Privacy Policy — OuiSi Photologue
This policy covers the OuiSi Photologue iPhone app, made by OuiSi Inc. (Hudson Valley, New York). The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we store it with Apple in a database that belongs to OuiSi, we don't sell it, and we don't use ads or trackers.
What we collect
- Sign-in identity. You sign in with your Apple ID. We receive an anonymous identifier from Apple, plus your name if you choose to share it. We don't ask for your email address. You choose the display name and initials other players see.
- Photos you add to a Photologue. Photos are the game. When you add one, it's uploaded so the other players in that Photologue can see it.
- Comments you write. The conversations attached to the connections in your Photologues.
- Photologue records. Which Photologues exist, who's playing in them, and when things happened.
- Camera and photo library access, used only at the moment you choose to take or pick a photo. We receive the single image you select — nothing else, and we never browse your library.
- Permission to send notifications. Apple, not OuiSi, holds the token your phone is reached with. The messages are silent: they update the number on the app icon rather than showing an alert.
Where it lives — and who can reach it
Everything above is stored in Apple’s iCloud, in a CloudKit database that belongs to OuiSi. We don’t run servers of our own, and your photos and comments never pass through anything except your device and Apple’s infrastructure.
We want to be plain about what that means, because it’s the part most apps leave vague: because the database is ours, we are technically able to open what’s in it. We do that only to run and repair the app. We don’t read your Photologues for any other reason, we don’t analyze them, we don’t train anything on them, and we never pass them to anyone outside the Photologue they belong to.
Your device also keeps a local copy of recent photos, comments, player names, and which Photologues you’ve opened, so things load quickly and offline.
How it's used
Solely to run the game: showing your photos and comments to the other players in your Photologues, and sending notifications. That's the whole list.
What we don't do
- No selling or sharing your data with anyone outside your Photologues
- No advertising and no ad networks
- No analytics or tracking SDKs
- No browsing your photo library — we receive only the images you explicitly pick
Who sees your content
The photos and comments you add to a Photologue are visible to the people in it, and to OuiSi as described above. Invite links contain a Photologue code — anyone who has the app and the link can join, so share links only with people you want playing.
Deleting things
Deleting a Photologue from the app permanently removes its photos and comments for every player. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us (below) and we'll take care of it.
Age
OuiSi is for adults. The app is rated 17+ and is not directed at children; we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 17.
Changes & contact
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Questions or deletion requests: write to info@ouisi.co.
